My First Gray Hair!

Y’all I got my first gray hair and I am so excited!! When I found it yesterday morning my husband asked me how do I know it’s my first one and I told him well it’s the first one I’ve seen so to me it’s my first! I even got to show my mom when we video chatted last night and we were both smiling and laughing and celebrating it!

There was a tinge of sadness but it only lasted a moment. And then I thought about what could have caused it and how long it takes for a gray hair to appear… I told William that this gray hair was the fruit of last year, but really it could be the fruit of the last two years!! Either way whatever caused it I survived it and I feel just a tad bit wiser for it even if it’s not true.

I’ve always loved gray hair. I feel like it’s regal and represents a life well lived so I will gladly welcome the gray hair because to me it means that I’m living life well!
When was the first time you got your first gray hair and how did you feel?

My 2017 Theme

This year’s theme is pretty simple and yet it’s something I’ve struggled with for a while so it’s definitely time to make a go at it. My one word them for 2017 is HAPPY!

I want to do things that make me happy, like:

Coloring more

Reading for fun

Playing/Coaching volleyball

Take pictures

Make family memories

Start traditions

Try new recipes

Spend good quality time with William

Spend time with good friends

Drink Coffee

Play my violin and the piano (if only for 15 minutes a couple times a week)

Spend good quality time with Kobi

Have good in depth Jesus time

Treating myself (and learn not to regret it)

Give gifts

Eat Ice Cream

I also want to learn how to relax and use the above mentioned things to do so. I’ve had to be the responsible one for so long I don’t know any other way to be but I want to try and be a bit more carefree I want to live my life in all it’s wholeness with way more happy and less worry and routine. I want to continue to find out what makes me happy and do those things.

It’s going to be interesting finding the time to do these things amidst all of my responsibilities (wife, mom, work, school) but I’m willing to find the time to help me be great!

So here’s to a happier and more relaxed 2017!

Do you have a word or resolution for 2017? I’d love to read what it is!

Guess Who’s 11 Months Today?

Well of course that would be our beautiful here on earth daughter Kobi not be confused with our in Heaven daughter Kiwi because she’d be two! Anyway Kobi is growing so fast I’m both excited and want it to stop! She loves to eat new foods and I’m not just talking puréed foods (today she had half of a plain slider) her sitter feeds her papas and carne asada (with our consent of course)! She’s eating real food people, real food!!!

We’ve noticed her personality really coming out a lot more lately. She sings, she dances, she absolutely LOVES music, everything interests her to where you know she wants to know more about something. Kobi crawls when she wants to and is learning to stand up. She also takes a few steps when holding mine or daddy’s hands.

She weighs 22.4 pounds is about 30 inches tall and wears a size 18 months!  She loves to laugh, and watch Super Why on Netflix and she is learning to play with other kids her age (thanks Cami). She’s so smart and strong (she can kick me out of a chair if I let her) and she’s really kind and compassionate she always wants to make sure other babies around her are okay when they cry. We have to reassure her that they are okay so she can relax. She is a great communicator and she is rarely upset and she likes most everything except rabbits and guinea pigs (she legit cries at the site of them). Kobi amazes me every day!

Here are some pics of her.

Thanks for following our journey!
