My week has been hectic to say the least… It has consisted of lots of ice cream, watching my husband via pictures indulge in MY favorite things while he’s traveling, car shopping with my John John, and packing up the apartment as well as working. I wrapped my natural hair in a scarf as a turban which came out great and I did get to have lunch with a friend which was great but I’m ready for my husband to come home, cause I’m exhausted!!
These last few weeks have been super busy. They have been full of celebrating birthdays, Jesus time, friends coming to visit, fun things to do like having coffee, going to the beach, attending a really awesome car show as well as working, buying my iPad in cash (I felt so accomplished), and having an opportunity to style the fitting room displays!!
What was the highlight of your week?
Yesterday was our official first service as a church and although it was a long hard road to get to this point it, it was a success!
The team rallied together to unload all of the equipment and set up the space to look its best. It was such a hectic day I wanted to take tons of pictures to remember it but with all the work that needed to be done, I only got a few.
I guess the most important part was that we (me and my husband along with our Pastor and his family) got the chance to see everything come together. It was surreal yet so exciting at the same time to see everything that we worked towards for the last year come to pass.
It’s just gonna get better and better from here! We saw a lot of new faces and I am sure that God touched each person in a special way. God has a plan for the city of Miami and we’re honored to be apart of fulfilling it through Bridge Church!
To all those who were praying for us THANK YOU! We definitely couldn’t have made it this far without your prayers! Please continue to pray for the people of Miami, that there hearts would be opened to hearing the gospel and thereby transforming their lives and the lives of those around them.
This week has been super busy… I did a few different things with my hair, I celebrated a few birthdays, spent some time with my hubby and got everything ready for Bridge Church’s Big Launch Service tomorrow!! And of course I had some great Jesus Time!! Oh and I learned register this week! That was the highlight of my work week!! But the greatest part of my week was being able to count my iPad money and realizing that I can get it now!!
It’s true! In the age of modern technology with social media it can get hard to stop writing your thoughts and conversations and actually pick up a phone and call someone. But when you do it’s most refreshing to your soul! I just did it! Like right now and just hearing my friend’s voice which I haven’t actually heard in about six months brought tears to my eyes. Hearing her voice just reminded me that I actually do have friends and they actually love me enough to talk to me on the phone… even if it was only for a few minutes.
I communicate via Facebook and email quite often but I am going to make it a habit of picking up the phone and calling people more often and telling them how much I love and miss them, even if I have to leave a voice-mail; just so they can hear my voice and know that I was thinking about them! Hopefully you are doing a better job of calling people than I am but if you are like me and rely heavily on written communication may I kindly challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and pick up the phone and call someone you’re missing, or just someone you haven’t actually talked to in a while. I’m sure you’ll be blessed by it and so will the person on the other line.
Today I discovered that I have gained a few new followers, a few new subscribers to my blog, so I just wanted to take this time to say Thank You! I then realized that I never thanked the people who have been following me from the beginning or nearly the beginning or even just last month… (sorry about that) and Thank You!
As a writer I think everyone wants to know that someone else is reading their work besides loved ones (not that there’s anything wrong with that but you know what I mean). And I know that when it comes to writing a blog well there are so many to choose from it can be difficult to really invest your time and energy into reading them. so it’s always such a pure delight and honor to see that people like YOU for one reason or another like my blog enough to want to be kept updated!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for continuing to read what I am writing. For commenting, for thinking about things that I’ve written and for sharing what you’ve read with others… and to my loved ones, thank you for your love and support, your kind words and advice! It means so much to me to know that you are out there wherever you are reading my thoughts on this blessed life that I live. And even though I am not necessarily writing to attract people to read my thoughts, like I said before it’s nice to know that you are there anyway!! So once again, Thank You and May God Bless You in ways you’ve never imagined!
I read the above devotional and it described His love for you perfectly! Go ahead and read it, I’ll wait a few minutes…
It occurred to me that although I have many reasons to write, the main reason I started this blog was to let you know that God’s love for you is real, it’s unconditional, it’s sacrificial, it’s everlasting, and if you look hard enough it can be found anywhere.
So even though I may talk about fashion or natural hair don’t think for one minute that God’s not in it. After all, He is the one that gave me my hair and put the desires I have surrounding fashion in my heart! He knows what I like, and what brings me joy because He loves me. And He loves you!!
His Love IS real and He wants you to know that YOU are valuable and precious to Him! It doesn’t matter what you did in your past, or what you look like, it doesn’t matter if you weren’t born into money, or if you own your weight in gold! God doesn’t care about things like that.
HE loved you enough to sacrifice HIS own son Jesus on a cross for you! Jesus Christ loved you enough to go through with the sacrifice on the cross so that you would be able to know His Father God. Jesus died and overcame death on the third day so that you would have everlasting life and believe in Him and His love for you!!
It all comes down to love. That’s why this blog is called His Love IS Real… So that you can go and find His love for you in your everyday situations… Maybe you see his love for you when you eat lunch, or maybe when you catch a glorious sunset in all of your favorite colors, maybe it’s in a song that you sing at church, or the feeling of raindrops on your skin.
Or maybe you realize His love for you is real when you pray, or draw, or finally succeed at something you’ve wanted to give up on, or fail at something you just knew you’d pass with flying colors. Jesus shows His love to His children in many different ways. We are all different so why would He try to love us the same way all of the time. The only things that stay the same are the cold hard facts: allow yourself to be loved by Him. I did and I haven’t regretted it!
